Bolton is encouraging an active lifestyle with our Activity Tracker

We are asking everyone in Bolton to add every mile they cover when walking, running, cycling or swimming to the totaliser.

You can record your activity anonymously, or create your own personal account which will allow you to track your progress.

Walking

Walking is simple, free and one of the easiest ways to get more active, lose weight and become healthier. It's underrated as a form of exercise, but walking is ideal for people of all ages and fitness levels who want to be more active. Regular walking has been shown to reduce the risk of chronic illnesses, such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, asthma, stroke and some cancers.

Running

Running is a great way to increase your overall level of health. Research shows that running can raise your levels of good cholesterol while also helping you increase lung function and use. In addition, running can also boost your immune system and lower your risk of developing blood clots.

Cycling

Cycling is one of the easiest ways to fit exercise into your daily routine because it's also a form of transport. Cycling also: saves you money, gets you fit and helps the environment.It's a low-impact type of exercise, so it's easier on your joints than running or other high-impact aerobic activities. But it still helps you get into shape.

Prize Draw Terms and conditions

  1. In order to be included in the prize draw entrants must register an account and then log at least 4 separate sessions of exercise
  2. Entry is open to any person living or working in Bolton except people directly involved in the development of the site
  3. The winners will be drawn at random from all entrants who meet the criteria by the closing date
  4. The prizes are as stated, are not transferable and no cash or other alternative will be offered.
  5. Prizes have been donated by site sponsors and are issued in good faith – Bolton Council will accept no financial responsibility should any prizes not work
  6. The decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into
  7. Any child or young person under the age of 16 years must have parental permission to claim a prize
  8. The winners agree to their name and photograph being used in any post-winning publicity
  9. Winners will be notified by email. Prizes to be claimed within 20 days of notification, after which time a new prize winner will be drawn
  10. A list of winners will be available on request
